The Black Pig Festival 2010

Thursday brings us to the opening of this years Black Pig Festival. This is one of the biggest festivals held in Enniscrone for many years, and promises to be as entertaining as ever before.
 
 
The opening of the festival will begin with a colourful and wonderful Parade, which will be lead by the amazing Samba Band Itchy Feet
The parade will march from lower Main Street at 7.00pm and finish up at the Church where the opening ceremony will take place. This will be followed by the roasting of the Pig along with Traditional Irish Music & goes into the night with a DJ playing popular smash hits all of which will take place on the street.

Sunday brings a fun filled day for the children with the kiddies day. 2pm starts the ball rolling with the duck race on the Balawaddy River at the entrance to the beach. 3pm to 6pm there will be a Kids Go Wild Party at the Ocean Sands Hotel. The party will include face painters and entertainers along with inflatable slides and bouncing castles and a kiddies disco
This will be the event they will be talking about until Christmas!
 
Its A Knockout will take place on the hollow beside the children's playground. This event is for the "Bigger Children"! An adult inflatable obstacle course faces teams from locals and visitors. The aim of the game is to gain as many points as possible for your team. Extra points awarded for the "Funniest Looking Team"! This event is an exciting game to take part in and an hilarious spectacle to watch.
 
And as the sun sets the mood turns country as Jimmy Buckley rides into town and performs at the Ocean Sands Hotel. Doors open 8.30pm. As the floor fills, those who attend have the opportunity to take part in waltzing and jiving competitions to win some very nice prizes.
