The Enniscrone Golf Club was founded over 100 years ago and has become a favourite among professional and amateur golfers alike. The 18-hole links golf course was designed by Eddie Hackett who worked alongside a committee to shape and blend holes through the beautiful Enniscrone dunes. It was designed specifically not to interfere with the natural terrain.
It is this design that has had visitors returning to Enniscrone golf course from far and wide. Just this year, Bill Murray visited the course. Filming as part of his The Links Life series focusing on golf in Ireland, Murray took to the Dunes Championship course and was notably impressed. Apart from silver screen stars, many people visit for the various championships held by Enniscrone golf club. Tom Coyne describes the course as “unapologetic, unpretentious and wonderfully unrefined, authentic and irresistible.” It’s no wonder then that the course has won so many awards.
Over the years, Enniscrone golf course has really made a name for itself. In 2016 the course was one of the Top 100 courses in the UK & Ireland according to Golf Monthly. While in 2019 it was named one of Irelands Top 20 golf courses by Golf World. Just last year the golf links in Enniscrone were voted the Best Links in Connacht by the Golfers Guide to Ireland.
